Lilly Pulitzer & Pearls

Although it is expensive, Lilly Pulitzer has some amazing, strong quality clothes and accessories. I'm completely in awe over this Lilly Vinita Dress Cover Up. It's perfect for the beach. Also for the beach, the Spring Fling Tote is so adorable! It's bright and it's Lilly, so you couldn't go wrong with it.

I know it's almost Summer, but I'm really into scarves. Where I am, it doesn't get too hot, so I may be able to pull off a scarf during May. This Murfette Scarf is my favorite Lilly pattern. I absolutely need it.
As some of you may have seen on my Instagram, I recently purchased a handmade, Lilly Pulitzer key fob for my keys! I bought it off of Etsy and I am recommending it to every one of you right now. It was a great price and the seller was so sweet and accommodating!! Click here to check them out. There are so many different patterns that she offers. This is the one I purchased and I absolutely love it.

So what's going on in the world of preps? Well, I can tell you one thing. Pearls, chevron and bows are in. This picture was taken directly from my Instagram. I took this photo as a display of the three most popular preppy accessories at the moment. Believe it or not, I purchased this bow from Walmart for less than $5. The pearl necklace was a gift and the chevron background is just a print out of this blog background! Pearls are always in. It doesn't matter if you're going to the beach or prom, pearls can always be worn. There is no bad time for wearing either pearl earrings, a pearl necklace or even a pearl headband (which I got from a friend)!

Today is my dad's birthday! Happy Birthday to the best father in the entire world! I love you! Here's a few pictures of us to show how close we always were.

Proper Kids Problems & Frat Collection

Maybe you've heard of Proper Kids Problems, or have seen the shirts on Tumblr. They are made by the Proper Kids Problems Etsy account. I finally caved in and purchased one! It's so soft and it came with a free koozie drink and car decal. It was only $30 and runs true to size. This is me wearing it below.

Another shirt I love (and still have yet to buy) is the Frat Collection T-Shirt. I'd really like to get the American Themed Betsy one! It's $35! I can't wait to buy it so I can wear it on Independence Day!

I absolutely love to bake. I'm going to share a few of my favorite recipes today. They're great as gifts for new neighbors, I mean who doesn't love homemade goodies?
1. I have some pancakes. They're not really in the baking category, but they're easy to make and everybody goes crazy for them. They're cinnamon roll pancakes. They're twice as good as they sound. The recipe can be found here.
2. I have my own recipe. Make chocolate chip cookie dough (or buy some). Then you take Hershey's kisses and wrap them in cookie dough balls. Bake them. then you'll have these adorable little balls of cookie that actually have a chunk of chocolate in the middle. They're amazing and bite-size!
3. My personal favorite, Oreo Cupcakes. Self explanatory. Look at the picture below. They're incredible. Click here for the recipe.
4. Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie! Probably the best thing to bring over someone's house or give as a gift.
It's basically a soft chocolate chip cookie, as big as a pie. Right here!

Emi Jay & Mexico

You may have heard of Emi Jay Hairties. They are these adorable hair ties that don't create creases in your hair. The Emi Jay website sells three of these hair ties for $5.99. Meanwhile, I purchased mine off of Etsy for 65 cents per hair tie. At that price, you can get three hair ties for $1.95 instead of $5.99. Go to The Giving Girl's Etsy shop and purchase some of these artsy hair ties. The picture below is The Giving Girls Etsy shop photo. The photo next to it of the hair ties on the J.Crew catalog, is my photo from Instagram of the hair ties I bought from The Giving Girl on Etsy. Go get some of her handmade goodies and tell her that I sent you!

I found some super cute Spring jackets at the Gap. Trench coats and rain jackets of all kinds! They're great quality, my mom always used to buy us things from the Gap when we were kids and they've held up so well that we actually gave them down to our cousins as hand-me-downs! Here are a few of my favorite jackets from the Gap.

Yesterday was my little sister's birthday! I'm away at school, so I couldn't be with her, but Rachel, I love you so much and happy birthday! You're such an amazing person and you never cease to blow my mind with all your many talents. I hope you had an amazing day yesterday! My sister is on the left. My boyfriend and I purchased her a rose gold watch that she's wanted and she loves it!!

Spring Trends & Giveaway

The trees are starting to show their buds and there's a smell of Spring in the air? Warm weather is on the way! Don't get caught without some of this seasons hottest trends. I looked at Elle Magazine's trend report for the upcoming season and out of all the trends, these seem to be my favorite.

Peplum:
Peplum tops are all the rage now. In the 80s, they were popular for their slimming effect on the waist. I personally love these. Whether you are going for a dress or a top, the peplums are very flattering on any body shape. I just recently bought my first peplum top for only $8. You can see it in my ootd. You can get a similar one at Kohls for $10. I also found a peplum dress from Forever 21 at a good price.

Cut-Out Dresses:
I love these cutout dresses. They let you show off a little skin without feeling self conscious. I don't have one of these, but I definitely plan on getting one! I found some at Forever 21 such as this one and a pretty dressy one at Nasty Gal. I also really liked the Asos cut-out dresses such as this really sexy one.

Tailored Shorts:

I only recently starting having an interest in tailored shorts, but I can say that they're very classy. Instead of tight colored shorts, try the J.Crew Factory for tailored shorts like these (shown above in purple). I also found that American Eagle had some nice tailored-looking shorts.

Organization is super important to me. I've always been one to make lists and clean out my bag all the time. I organized the shelf in my room and I think it looks pretty awesome now. My dad actually built and painted this shelf for me last year so I had a place to put my books and fancy perfumes. I have a heart shaped tin that I got from my best friend, Brenda a while back. Inside it, I keep my rock collection. A little nerdy, I know. The next section has perfume and Essie nail polishes, then a Tiffany & Co box, Chanel perfume, Gilly hicks perfume, a little tin bucket. In the bottom sections, I have my books and journals, an empty wine bottle, Taylor Swift perfume, Daisy perfume, my coin collection and a Victoria's Secret Dog. For a little while this year, I had some interest in interior design, so what do you think? Hopefully this can inspire you to organize or do some spring cleaning soon!

Rainy Days & Rose Gold

Recently, it's been really rainy where I am, so I've decided to post a cute outfit idea for the rain. I walk around outside a lot to get from class to class, and this outfit is always a go-to.

The monogrammed rain jacket is from Marley Lilly, the jeans from Abercrombie, the bag is by Longchamp and the boots are, of course, Hunter. Basically you can wear any jeans, jeggings or leggings with this look. I actually just purchased my Longchamp bag. I love this bag because it's made of strong material that can get wet and doesn't scratch easily such as leather does. Here is a picture of me in a men's grey sweater (who says women cant wear men's clothes?), jeggings and flats holding my new favorite bag. I put a bow on my Longchamp because it shows my style. How would you dress up your Longchamp?

Rose gold watches have been popular throughout fall and will continue their reign into Spring. As you can see from my ootds, I do have a rose gold watch. The most popular and loved brand for watches, is of course, Michael Kors. The Michael Kors rose gold watch is $295, so you can bet I didn't buy it. I searched for a rose gold watch that wouldn't empty my wallet. Eventually, I came across a watch at Macy's. As you can see in my ootds, it is very similar to Michael Kors, except it was only $30 from Style & Co at Macy's. So next time you go shopping, try to find a similar look at a much cheaper price. I love my watch! People ask me all the time if it's Michael Kors. Little do they know it was only $30.

Old Navy Shirts & My Wishlist

I just have to say I am crazy for these shirts! They're a great price and they fit so well. I will definitely be going back to get more. These are good for so many different outfits. You can put them underneath a pullover sweater, by themselves or underneath a cardigan. I have the black checkered one shown below, and a plain white one. I can't wait to go back and get more.

I've been asked about some things on my Wishlist. Every girl has a wish list! Well, I've been wanting a bag for my yoga mat. It's only $20 from Gaiam (shown below) and I go to yoga and body conditioning classes every day of the week. It's a hassle for me to carry around the yoga mat without a bag, I feel like one of those really cheesy only-available-on-tv actors. It's bright pink, which I love, and has a zipper on the side. I also could really use some more hair ties, bows and this scarf from Old Navy that I'm just dying to purchase! It's only $13 dollars. Next time I'm home from school, I'll definitely be going! That's basically everything on my current wish list, how about everyone else?

At the end of this week, I will be heading to Mexico for my first trip out of the country! Spring break! I'm pretty nervous and excited all at the same time. I took a photo in the excitement of packing and posted it to Instagram. It's my mother's sunhat, my bathing suit (top from Walmart, bottom from Victoria's Secret), my passport and sunglasses from Aldo. Where is everyone going for Spring break?

St. Patrick's Day & Cheap Hair Bows

If you're Irish or planning to go to a party or parade, (fortunately, I'm both) then you're probably already planning an outfit for your St. Patrick's Day festivities. I've created a quick collage of my outfit for this holiday, and if you're planning on dressing down with just a hint of green, I've created a few options for you below.

My St. Patrick's Day outfit. Green bow (you can get bows from almost anywhere). I got mine from Etsy for less than $1 each (in the photo below). The top is from Old Navy and you can get festive socks from Target or Walmart. Any black leggings and boots will do. If you want a variation of this you can just use a green bow or just wear a green shirt. This can be done with a skirt, pants, jeans, a dress, anything you want! Be creative and express yourself. It's technically a holiday, so it's a good excuse to dress up.

The Harlem Shake has gone viral. I'm sure you've heard of it, and if you haven't, I suggest you go look it up right now! I was recently in Vermont where we created out own version of this new trend that can be seen here. Also in Vermont, we skied, snowboarded and ate so much amazing food. Below is a photo of all of us outside of the house. We all bought matching sweatshirts!

March Madness

Happy March everybody! Forchicsake.com makes the cutest little printable calendars and I'd like to share this month's with you. Click below to be redirected to their website where you can print it out for free!

So my friend actually made me a winter headband (the ones that keep your ears warm) and let me tell you, it's pretty awesome. She's super crafty and I'm thankful for that, I mean look at this thing! If you get the chance to buy one or learn how to make one, do it. Super trendy and keeps you warm! Bows are to warm weather (even though I wear them all the time) as these things are to cold weather. Seriously, try them out! This red jacket is from Old Navy and the grey sweater underneath is a men's sweater I got from my friend. The leggings are from Delia's (best pair of leggings I've ever purchased) and the boots are from Charlotte Russe.

It's time for a quick trend report. We all know that right now, we're stuck in those awkward moments between Winter and Spring. What to wear? Well, the good news is that there is one definite thing that is going to be in style. Scarves. Whether it's cold or warm, scarves fit almost any outfit. You can add silk scarves (like the one shown below from J.Crew) to any outfit in the warmer weather, and in the cold weather. If worn with flats, the outfit looks more Spring-esque. When worn with boots and a sweater or long sleeve, it fits the style for the Winter. You can find silk scarves similar to the one's at J.Crew for a better price at Old Navy and H&M.
I've received a bunch of questions lately about my Tory Burch earrings (shown below in an Instagram photo from my personal account). They were only $17 because they are out of season. This just means that they were popular a while ago and there are still some left. I know it's hard to believe, but it's true! Only $17. I actually got them on iOffer. It's a website that sells designer things straight from the factories in China, Japan, etc. That's why they're so cheap! So you should maybe try to find the designer item you're looking for, on here! The only downside is that the shipping time is pretty long. I ordered these in December and got them in the beginning of February. The shipping takes so long because the package has to travel across the water, maybe in a plane and get through customs! Personally, I think it's worth it!
